Former YSP Client is Making Headlines
Who hasn’t heard about the formerly homeless high school student who now has been accepted to 18 colleges?!
When Dylan and his family found themselves without a place to sleep, the York Street Project intervened. After a brief stay with us, we helped Dylan’s family find exactly what they needed to make necessary strides through partnering with our allies at WomenRising.

Dylan’s incredibly inspirational story is all over the news, but you can read more about it in the New York Times,

We’re still relishing in the wonderful Celebration of Hope that honored our friends, The Denyeau Family, and helped us raise more than $80,000 to help provide housing, childcare, education, and other critical needs to break the cycle of poverty for our families!  If you missed the photos and recap, please click here.

YSP Volunteer is Creating an Urban Garden

Our wonderful volunteer, Andrea Newman, will be donating her time and horticulture expertise by working with our Pre-School and Pre-K Classes to re-create our on-site Urban Vegetable Garden. The goal of the garden will be to reconnect the children with where their food comes from and how it grows. Thank you, Andrea!

Hudson Chamber Foundation Launches #HudsonGives

Think “Giving Tuesday” but just for Hudson County. “The Hudson County Chamber of Commerce annually urges shoppers to spend locally. Now the group’s charitable arm, the Hudson County Chamber Foundation, is organizing the first-ever #HudsonGives to ignite generosity through a new online giving platform.”  On May 17, 2019, please visit the York Street Project’s #HudsonGives page during this 24-hour give-a-thon. Every gift made to us through this platform directly helps our families and raises awareness throughout the County about our life-changing programs. Help us lead the day!
